*** NOTE CHANGE OF TIME AND LOCATION ***
Australia has a wonderful array of birdlife, including many birds that live with us in our parks and gardens. But life in the suburbs is tough and our urban bird community is changing – with big and bossy birds becoming more and more common.
There are things we as individuals can do though to help our local bird life.
In this workshop Holly Parsons from Birds in Backyards will show you ways you can make your own back yard more friendly for native birds.
Birds in Backyards is a research, education and conservation program from BirdLife Australia about the birds that live where people live. The program was developed in response to the loss of small native birds from our parks and gardens, the rapid expansion of our urban landscape and the subsequent loss of habitat for native birds.
Holly Parsons is the Manager of the Birds in Backyards Program for BirdLife Australia. She has a background in urban ecology and a love of all things birds. Through Birds in Backyards she aims to grow our knowledge of how to manage our parks and gardens to help bird life as well as encourage the all important connection with nature amongst young and old alike.
