Bicycle Maintenance Workshop

  • The Lost Plot Central Road Port Macquarie, NSW, 2444 Australia (map)

This is a free hands-on community workshop for anyone who is keen to gain the skills to look after their bike well. During this workshop you will learn basic maintenance and bike set up, to make sure you are the most comfortable you can be while on the bike, and will not cause yourself back or knee injuries from riding.

Participants need to bring their bike to the workshop and if you have a multitool or a set of Allen keys and spanners, then please bring them along. This will allow us to make the workshop as practical as possible. Each participant will receive a set of tyre levers and a puncture repair kit – both essential to fixing a flat tyre.

Jamie and Belinda have been riding mountain bikes for over twenty years. They both started racing Down Hill mountain biking in their early 20’s. Jamie worked for about 8 years as a bike mechanic in a number of bike shops in Canberra. There is nothing now that Jamie cannot fix, unless he does not have the tool

Spaces for this workshop are limited. We expect this one to book out quickly, so make sure to book soon to avoid disappointment. Please email events@thelostplot.org.au to book a space. One spot per family, however family members can attend and share one bike to work on. Children are welcome!

This workshop is part of our Sustainability Made Easy series. The program is supported by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust.
